The use of ICTs in academic community of India are increasing and growing with positive manner. While there is a lot of study on how ICT is used in development of education in a country, there is not much information on how ICT is used by teachers of education.The study examined ICT usages among faculty members in college of education of Panipat region of Haryana. A structural questionnaire was distributed among the faculty members of education in Panipat district to know ICT tools and services used, place of ICT access, purpose to use, frequency of ICT use, opinion of faculty members available ICT, and find out the problem while using ICT. The study found that all the faculty members used ICTs i.e. computers, e-mail, internet, telephone and mobile phone in lab, administration block and in their office for academic (93.75%) and develop skills and knowledge (90%). 30% faculty members had good opinion about the availability of ICT in colleges, whereas 55% had no opinion. The analyzed data shows three man problems faced by faculty members while using ICTs i.e. limited access of computer (32.5%), limitation of internet access speed (26.25%) and lack of time (21.25%). |
