The purpose of this paper is to find out the motivation level among the library supporting staff engaged in universities of Jammu & Kashmir (India). This article investigates the perceptions of assistant librarians/library assistants/semi-professional assistants/professional assistants and other professionals (n=120) employed in central/departmental/divisional/faculty/school libraries of state universities regarding the motivation level. Respondents are emphasized as they are the determining factors for motivation level. The data is collected through questionnaire mode and convenience sampling methodology is used to draw the subjective sample. It has been found that motivation is the cognitive entity and library staff members have been motivated either with monetary or non-monetary motivation. Finally, researcher opined from the present paper that there is significant difference in the motivation levels of highly qualified staff members as compared to less qualified staff members. |
