ICT includes technologies such as radio, television, video, DVD, telephone, satellite systems, computer and network hardware and software; as well as the equipment and services associated with these technologies, such as videoconferencing and electronic mail. In education, use of ICT has become imperative to improve the efficiency and effectiveness at all levels and in both formal and non-formal settings. Profound technical knowledge and positive attitude towards this technology are the essential prerequisites for the successful citizens of the coming decades. The major teaching and learning challenges facing in higher education revolve around student diversity which includes, amongst others, diversity in students' academic preparedness, language and schooling background.
