Academic libraries are not exception of it as they are at the forefront of technological innovation. Academic libraries are now leveraging the new technology, especially web capabilities to provide new and enhanced services. Web- based reference and information services is the emerging reference service which enable users to get access to relevant sources and services round the clock. The present study examined the current status of web-based reference and information service and its use, rendered through the website of IIT Kanpur library.
