Abstract :
This paper discusses the scientific output for measuring the progress in Oncology Research. Indian Journal of Cancer has been taken as a source journal. It is freely accessible on Internet through Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). The aim of this analysis is to observe the year wise distribution of contribution, authorship pattern, and author productivity, relative growth, doubling time, geographical distribution of contribution, Citation analysis and application of Bradford law etc. This scientometric analysis based on total 143 contributions (103 articles and 40 case repots) and their 2577 citations published in “Indian journal of cancer” during the period of 2005-2009. Analysis shows that the spectrum of research activity was highest 23.78% in 2005 followed by 2008 with 21.68. This is observed that 57.34% papers published during the tenure were multi authored and degree of collaboration is 0.98. The contribution of foreign countries in Indian Journal is 20.99%. “Cancer” is most cited journal.
